OnePlus has officially unveiled the OnePlus 6 android smartphone. On paper, it looks like an incremental update over the OnePlus 5 and 5T and despite the rumours to the contrary, there's no added IP67 certification, no wireless charging support and no Galaxy S9-rivalling 'Super Slo-Mo' mode.
Rather, OnePlus has focused on speed, with the Chinese firm focusing on the fact that it wants to give customers the best user experience possible with "no lag, and no frustrations."
To that end, the OnePlus 6 comes kitted out with Snapdragon's latest-and-greatest Snapdragon 845 CPU, paired with an Adreno 630 GPU and a hefty 8GB RAM. The firm is promising a 30 per cent boost in performance compared to its last-gen release, and a 10 per cent improvement in battery life, despite the handset's souped-up, power-slurping display.

Overview of Full Specifications of One Plus 6

OnePlus has always jammed top-end specs inside its phones, and as you can see from the list above, nothing changes here. OnePlus 6 mobile features a 6.28" (15.95 cm) display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels and runs on Android v8.1 (Oreo) operating system. The device is powered by Octa core, 2.8 GHz, Snapdragon 845 processor, alongside 6GB or 8GB of RAM and the option of 256GB of storage.

The OnePlus 6 comes with dual rear cameras, the main rear camera is a 16 MP camera with Exmor-RS CMOS Sensor supporting a resolution of 4616 x 3464 Pixels while secondary snapper is 20MP with portrait mode and optical image stabilisation (OIS). the 16 MP front snapper is powered by a Exmor-RS CMOS Sensor.

The OnePlus 6 has two forms of biometric security. First up is the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, which is now a smaller oval shape, rather than the circle on its predecessor.
Secondly, face unlock is included, allowing you to unlock the phone hands free. OnePlus says face unlock takes 0.4 seconds to recognize you and allow you access to the handset, while the fingerprint scanner is quicker at 0.2 seconds
One Plus 6 features Dash Charge, giving the OnePlus 6 a day's power in half an hour charge. The battery size remains the same as the OnePlus 5 and 5T though, at 3,300mAh.

Release date
The OnePlus 6 in Midnight Black and Mirror Black color variants will be available for purchase from the firm's official website from 22 May. The "limited edition" Silk White version will be available for purchase from June.

Price
The OnePlus 6 will be made available in Midnight Black (8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB configurations), Mirror Black (6GB/64GB, 8GB/128GB) and Silk White (8GB/128GB).
The 64GB model OnePlus 6 will cost £419, while the 128GB and 256GB variants will sell for £519 and £569. respectively.
