Today at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel officially declared his intention to run for a second term in office come 2019.

According to the governor,
'I came today following the ratings and commendations A'Ibom People drawn from the 3 Senatorial Dist, and also cutting across diverse segments of our population, that I have made results-oriented efforts in serving A'Ibom people since I was elected in 2015'.
At the event, Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Onofiok Luke also said 'we will resist those who want to capture Akwa Ibom State with the last drip of our blood. Strangers cannot take our land".
